Mastercard will award a prize of US $ 5,000 in digital cards to the winning film of the BEST FILM award by the public of the virtual IFF Panama
The Panama International Film Festival has received great news from the Mastercard team: the film that obtains the most votes from the public during the 5 days of the virtual festival, will be awarded the Mastercard Award for Best Film, winning a US $ 5,000 credit in digital cards.
This gesture by Mastercard consolidates, not only a nine-year alliance with the festival, but also confirms its commitment to cinema as an artistic manifestation that has managed to go along with millions of people around the world during these moments of isolation and uncertainty.
“This is really significant for the filmmakers and for the audience, as it strengthens their decision-making power. We are extremely moved and grateful to Mastercard, who has been an incredible ally for us, ”said Pituka Ortega Heilbron, Executive Director of IFF Panama.
The Panama International Film Festival will hold its first virtual edition from May 22 to 26, with 12 wonderful films of its selection this year, including: Me llamo Gennet, which will be available for people with hearing and visual limitations to through an interpretation in sign language and audio description respectively; The documentary La Flor de La Vida, which addresses love during old age, will donate the funds raised to the Asociación Luz y Vida, a non-profit organization dedicated to the care of the elderly.
