Paz is originally from San José, Costa Rica. She lived five years in Lyon, France where she studied both Cinema and Modern Literature. In 2009 she directed her first short film, En Espera, and in 2013 she graduated from the American Film Institute with a master's degree in film directing. She is the writer and director of Aquí y Ahora (2019), her first feature film. Aquí y Ahora won the work in progress award from the Viña del Mar film festival, the post-production fund of Women in Film and was even part of the IFP lab (Independent Filmmaker project ) in NY.
