Marina de Tavira is a Mexican actress of theater, film and television. It has been developed mainly on the stages of the Mexican theater working with the most prestigious directors. He has starred in texts by authors such as Bertold Brecht, Harold Pinter, David Mamet, Ximena Escalante, among others.
Together with Enrique Singer, he formed the theatrical project INCIDENTE TEATRO, with which he has produced and performed 7 stagings, the most recent being David Skylight “Skylight”, where she was nominated for Best Actress by the ACPT.
In cinema, he has worked with directors such as Rodrigo Plá, in the film winning the Leone del Futuro Award for the best first film at the 2007 Venice film festival, Carlos Carrera, Issa López, Mariana Chenillo, Hari Sama and with Alfonso Cuarón in his most recent movie Rome. His latest television jobs include Ingobernable for Netflix and Falco for Amazon directed by Ernesto Contreras. His work has been nominated and awarded several times by different associations of critics and theatrical journalists in Mexico.
He lent his voice for the animated feature film "Ana y Bruno" directed by Carlos Carrera as well as for the Netflix series "Dark Crystal".
Her participation in the multi-award-winning film ROMA, by director Alfonso Cuarón, in this project Marina played “Mrs. Sofia ”character who gave her an Oscar and Platinum Awards nomination in the category of Best Supporting Actress, she was also the winner of the Ariel Award in that category.
Marina was part of the cast of "Reminiscence" tape directed by Lisa Joy.
