Claudia Abend was born in Uruguay. Director, editor and documentalist, she is a teacher of Documentary Production at the Catholic University of Uruguay. Her filmography includes Hit (2008), and La Flor de la Vida (2018). Her first film was El principio del fin (2001), an award-winning documentary about the 1980 plebiscite that marked a major step towards the end of the dictatorship in Uruguay, directed Hit (2008), together with Adriana Loeff, a film that he beat the public record and time on the bill in Uruguay. In 2017 he was the world premiere at IDFA (Amsterdam) of her most recent feature film, also in co-direction with Loeff, La flor de la vida, a project that received support among others from Sundance Institute. The film won the jury's special prize at É Tudo Verdade / It's All True (Brazil), the public prize at the Malaga Festival (Spain) and the prize for best documentary and best editing by the Association of Critics of Cinema of Uruguay.
