Cristina Gallego was born in Bogota, Colombia. She studied Film and Television at the National University of Colombia. In 1998 she founded Ciudad Lunar Productions together with Ciro Guerra. Her filmography includes Wandering Shadows (2004), awarded the Films in Progress prize at San Sebastian; The Wind Journeys (2009); Embrace of the Serpent (2015), winner of the CICAE Art Cinema Award at Cannes. She has produced Abner Benaim’s Ruben Blades Is Not My Name (2018). Birds of Passage (2018) is her directorial debut.

Ciro Guerra was born in Rio de Oro, Colombia. He studied Film and Television at the National University of Colombia. His filmography includes Wandering Shadows (2004), awarded the Films in Progress prize at San Sebastian; The Wind Journeys (2009); Embrace of the Serpent (2015), winner of the CICAE Art Cinema Award at Cannes. Birds of Passage (2018) is his latest feature.
